Now a new survey shows that, natural products continue to remain top of mind for many women when it comes to the personal care beauty products.

The second annual Green Beauty Barometer survey questioned more than 1,000 U.S. women aged 18 and up about their beauty consumer habits and desires including: skin care; hair care; makeup; sunscreen; fragrance and nail care. Among the notable findings are:

  • The Survey has found that more than half 55% of all women check ingredient labels on beauty products prior to purchase
  • over 35 % intend to purchase more all-natural beauty products in the next 2 years than they currently do
  • 73 %of millennial women believe it is important to buy all-natural cosmetics.
  • Women with children in the home (69 percent) are more likely to value natural beauty products compared to women without children in the home (56 percent).

According to a recent survey by the EWG, the majority of Americans believe that at least some of the chemicals used in personal care products have been cleared for safety by the government when, in fact, there is barely any regulation of the industry. Another survey, this one conducted by both the Federal Trade Commission and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, found that many consumers mistakenly believe personal care products with organic claims meet government standards and that they contain only organic ingredients.

Green Beauty Barometer survey, Gran says “They think ‘good for you’ and ‘from the earth.’” The next step is to get those in the industry to agree. For more information on Indian cosmetic registration refer our blog “Cosmetic Registration in India – An Overview
